White goods – old appliances, scrap steel (there is a $15 removal fee for items with freon)

Motor Oil, Cooking Oil

Electronics (computer units, TV sets, printers, VCR’s.  Check in at the office for current disposal rate)

House Hold Hazardous Waste, chemicals, batteries, and paint (for Residents of Carroll County only please– see link for HHW)

Corrugated Cardboard                

Plastic Bottles ( #1 & #2)- if it’s not a bottle, it’s not recyclable

Guidelines to Follow

• Rinse all items.  This reduces odor and the attraction of pests.

• Do not recycle plastic unless it is a bottle.

• Do not put your items in bags (only newsprint should be bagged and placed on top of curbside bin).  Empty all bags into the bins.  Opening bags at the processing facility is very labor intensive, making our program expensive and inefficient.

• Flatten cardboard before placing in the collection container.

• Remove lids and throw away.       It is not necessary to remove labels.
